My target was to beat Angron13's Buggy time of 2:14.11 and I managed that with a run containing a considerable mistake, so I deleted that and continued for something like this :)

Haven't put up a video in a while, but since Dani's just put one up and dawg showed his face the other week, I figured I should get back into the spirit as well :P Hopefully critter will be next with a Badlands Mudplugger video.

As you can probably see, the first field entry jump was pretty poor and I had to use a 2nd Max Slam which isn't the optimum strategy but it got me out of a painful situation this time. The most heroic part of the video is the recovery of the first corner on lap 2. It may not look like much, but swinging that back around to the inside line is a pretty daring manoeuvre!

If you want me to explain the NEB handbrakes, just ask in the comments. I use NEB handbrakes after the small door (second corner) and then immediately after that (before the pipe jump). It's a pretty complicated strategy as you probably saw from mine and Dani's split-screen video ... so throw extras in like this and you're thinking about which buttons to press all the time haha (at least for the first few tries). Not a bad time, but I can see a 2:12 being possible.

  • I feel like such a noob for asking, but whats NEB again?

  • @lightblockade

It's when you let go of the accelerator (R2 for most people) and just let the Big Rig coast in neutral. If you pull the handbrake without the accelerator (usually the circle button), then the Rig doesn't cut all of its speed. When you re-apply the accelerator after you've turned the Rig where you want it to go, you'll keep more speed than if you held the accelerator down the whole time. I just refer to this technique as a "NEB handbrake".
