Dr. Hawass is my fourth cousin! He really is.

Did they break it? Hmm I don't think so, you can see the crack before my start hammering at it, and remember, a hammer wouldn't make a break that big, it's solid stone.

My comments;
1: Why is the nose broken (2:37)? I know that this "very strange" phenomenum is very common but isnt mummy just out of the grave, could this act be done on purpose? I wonder.
2: How would you like to have your dead father unearthed from his peaceful grave for public display with muggots still coming out of his head? Would you do that to your own father? Hein would you?
3: Lets go unearth Julius Ceasar and the Ptolomeys etc.
Now you know why its being done & who the Tamareans

Guys guys, relax. Dr Zahi Hawass knows exactly what he is doing.
He, if any, know how to do this properly.
He is a "Guardian". Thanks to him, multitudes of ancient items has come to labs and museums for future generations to study. Instead of in the hands of Grave robbers and looters.

@Wassil29 Two separate pieces would have also been easier to transport, especially when they had to drag everything around on wooden sledges.

I think the sarcophagus cover was already in 2 pieces of stone jojned together with plasta, i can see the different shade of colour stone used and the traces of plasta cover
another give away is the way the plasta cracks while they were moving the cover.
i think they broke the lid of the sarcofagus trying to open it more easily ! they should have kept it intact not brake it in 2!!

That was painful to watch. I would have thought these guys should be professionals. That work seemed excessively crude and rough. This tomb would have been better off still undiscovered for now.
