Baptism does not save anyone. Faith in Jesus Does. Scripture does not contradict itself nor is it blurry concerning doctrine. Father, Son and Holy Ghost are one. Search the scriptures people, like actually study them.
Who was Jesus praying to in John 17? Who's voice spoke at the baptism of Jesus; saying this is my my SON in whom I am well pleased? Who is the Father that Jesus sought to please and glorify while on earth. Who is it that He claimed to have sent Him? Explain Phil 2:6 - Jesus thought is not robbery to be equal with God....
I believe in one triune God, eternally existing in three persons:Father, Son, and Holy Spirit-each co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, coequal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections. (Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14; John 14:10, 26)
This man says "Without water baptism we are not in the covenant with Christ and have no part with Him."
Romans agrees with this man in one thing...that circumcision is the Old Testament type of baptism, however...my Bible says:
Rom 4:9-12
"9 Does this blessedness then come upon the circumcised only, or upon the uncircumcised also? For we say that faith was accounted to Abraham for RIGHTEOUSNESS. 10 How then was it accounted? While he was circumcised, or uncircumcised?...
(v10)...Not while circumcised, but while uncircumcised. 11 And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while still uncircumcised, that he might be the father of all those who believe, though they are uncircumcised, that righteousness might be imputed to them also, 12 and the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also walk in the steps of the faith which our father Abraham had while still uncircumcised."
We can be saved by the grace of God through FAITH before we are ever baptized. ...And you might say, "Faith without works is dead" And I would agree with you.
(James 2:17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.)
However, it is not our works that save us, it is Christs work on the cross. Him paying the debt and death we owe for our sins.
It is not by our own work that we obtain our salvation. We are saved by Jesus work so that we should walk in good works and abide in Christ, otherwise we WILL lose our salvation.
Ephesians 2:8-10
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."
"Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward. Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ DOES NOT HAVE GOD. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him;"
I put this in reverse order so that it would be cronological and make sense as a post. This is the last part
