To Guangdong (Canton), in 1930 and 1989 廣東

An old film of going by train to Guandong, then known as Canton in 1930. Finally a few photo's of my visit to Guandong 59 years later. I went there from Hong Kong by hovercraft.

Amazing archive film. The soundtrack is so fresh and clear. But also very acceptable. Has it been created recently to go with the film? It surely can't have been recorded at the time....?

You can still see the same in Guangdong today as in 1930 - except the villages are now connected by high speed railways and auto expressways.

What a panorama view of Canton back 80 years ago. Canton of that time was full of southern China characteristics, many of which is rarely seen today. Precious video clip!!
