Battle: LA Effects after effects

Tried to recreate the Battle LA effect, it did not succeed perfectly :P But well enough.

I think i you really want to create this effect in a proper way you need waaay more particles to make the smoke look realistic and organic, now it looks really fake. Still took almost 6 hours to make though.

At the end the build up is not really complete, but it gives you an basic idea of whats in there ^^

Oh and yeah, the water explosion looks horrible i know, i did that in 10 minutes because its mostly about recreating the smoke anyway :)

Could you do this effect with the alien "meteors" landing in the Thames in London? There is a bit in the film where you see a TV screen showing London under attack by the aliens.
