Richard Clapton....the other Clapton, a world class musician that never got the international attention he deserved. So great to see his work on youtube! This Yank'll never forget the show I saw him perform at the Palm Beach Surf Club in the Aussie Summer of '88, MAGIC!

This was a killer song and one of Claptons best in my opinion.
I am surprised that no one gives credit to the great drumming on this track. I am pretty sure it is Mark Meyer, who has done some great drumming with some great Aussie bands including Stylus, moving pictures, Sharon O'Neill, etc.
I might mention that it was only last year that I actually understood the lyric in the chorus, "I needed you like oxygen" ;-)

Yep it's Mossy on the track and Barnes singing backing vocals. The late Harvey James in the video who was a great guitar player in his own right and a lovely guy. RIP Harvey.

i put him way in front of that other Clapton . and he's not famous for doing terrible versions of JJ Cale songs either

@Gairlochan its Harvey James , played for Sherbet in the late seventies

@WellMeaningGentleman , the term, "you've got to have a lot of talent to be a successful solo pop/rock artist in the seventies with those looks." always springs to my mind. I'm amazed the suits didn't keep him in a back room doing the songwriting and pick some half-way good-looking bloke to at least lip-sync in the videos, at least at the beginning of his career. I grew up with his music and it's remained a part of my internal musical landscape, which is more than I can say for most artists.

Who's the lead guitarist in this video, anyone know?
He's really got music in his fingers … smooth, expressive style, not too much of a speed freak … Got some of Mossy's fluidity of playing without sounding anything like Mossy.
Anybody?

Taking nothing away from him as he's tops. But looking at him in this clip, the term "Boofhead come to mind".
