Pit Bulls: America's Dog Across America

Bustin' the public stigma and urban legend of "WHO" owns Pit Bulls. Gang Bangers, Drug Dealers, Animal Abusers, Backyard Breeders, and Blatantly Irresponsible owners constitute the minority of Pit Bull owner in the USA.
The majority of Pit Bulls are owned by responsible owners yet dont make the 11'o'clock news or the cover of the newspaper because 99% of Americans dont find "Pit Bull Sleeps on Couch" or "Pit Bull Chases Ball" or "Pit Bull Licks Child"s Face" all that news worthy.

Something to chew on ...

maybe the real creator of dangerous dogs is the public itself?

@DaziDog i can't thank you enough. i want to be sure to get the correct information out there to the public. most people don't know about the pit bull temperment because all they hear is the bad stuff on the news.

The info on the CDC site is ok. If you want GREAT information... check out ATTS(dot)org, livingsafelywithdogs(dot)org, and check out all the major animal welfare organizations for their official position statment's on BSL (ie Humane Society, American Humane Association, AKC, UKC, ASPCA, etc).

As I did several years ago... you will begin to paint a picture of what BSL really is, why it is, how it isnt working, and then take that knowledge to city officials.

@DaziDog there is no ban here i clarksville i have checked on that because i REFUSE to get rid of my sweet babies. but i have made sure to contact the police in this area and get permission to hand out fliers to dispose of any myths about pit bulls. i have met with the mayor and given him information as well as a list of websites including the CDC so he is aware that most dog bites do not even come from a pit bull. i have other sities to visit as well

BSL is not about cities being informed. Not one bit. BSL is actually about laziness. A city faces legal proceedings against them should they claim one of its citizens is an imcompetent pet owner. Instead of creating an air tight argument against the abuser... they go after something that can not hire legal council or holler "Discrimination"... dogs.

Im tellin' ya... forget about congress. The laws, the battles, the wins and losses are ALL at the city and county level.

@DaziDog i couldn't agree more but congress is the one who passes the laws starting there and then moving down is the best way to work it. i have a saying.. "i have never claimed to be nice but i have been accused of it pretty often" lol. i agree if cities were more informed then BSL would be a thing of the past. NC declined BSL i have to think they are intelligent

Pardon my french... but... F*CK Congress. A breed of dog being discriminated against is the last thing on their agenda.

You need to fight BSL at the city and county level... right were it lives.

And trust me... DO NOT BE NICE ABOUT. If cities with BSL were intelligent, courtious, and with fore-sight... they wouldnt have BSL to begin with.

look up your city's animal ordinances and check for breed restrictions. If they have a pit bull ban, or german shepherds or rottweilers or dobies... your fight starts RIGHT THERE. If your citiy does not have a breed ban... use google and find a city near you.

BSL IS OUT THERE... FIND IT!!! FIGHT IT!!! DESTROY IT!!!
