Suffering on the streets: the global stray dog problem

Around the world, 400 million stray and roaming dogs face disease, starvation and cruel methods of population management such as poisoning and electrocution. WSPA, as the world's largest alliance of animal welfare organizations, is uniquely addressing this issue so that all dogs are responsibly owned and there is humane population management. WSPA - together we can do more good for more animals.

First many "poor" dogs in the video are actually in very good condition. Having a lean look is totally normal for most canines, wolves look exactly the same in body type.

Many strays and ferals don't have a worse life than the average wolf has, so why don't people go out and "safe" wolves.

And why is it better for the dogs to have owners? Who says that they can give them what they need? Most dog-owners don't really know what dogs need and basically want a living accessoire not a friend.

well living in a a country full of stray dogs, india, i see that they dont really suffer as much as you think.. i mean the country dogs are treated well by local villagers. only in the city is where they really get messed up.. some of them are fed by locals as well ..but india is india. we respect all animals.. don know about other countries

Every dog I've seen wasn't harmful at all, regardless of it's size. Hell, the local stray cats leave either sticky or brown "surprises" all over the neighborhood more often than the dogs. Honestly, if you hate dogs, give me a real reason why you do, not just because they had been poorly cared for/hate you/etcetera.

@stingraybch Its hard to be a fan of dogs when one almost mauled you death as a baby and when youve \alweays had neighbours who dont take care of them..For years I couldnt enjoy my summers in my garden because of the smell of shit and endless flies.

HOwever you clearly have no perspective of how an anmal shouls exist. You dog would b far more happy running free than confined in your house. YOur dog should go for 4, 1 hour walks everyday, do you take em that much? YOur more cruel than u think
