Only the first SD-10 pictured has powerlines running to it. All of the other ones only have a phone line going to them, probably a land line activated system at one time.

This is the kind right by my house. It's one of my favorites.

if they are not being used they should bring them to WI

I live in the Harbor area, and I have not heard any of those SD-10's sounded since the late 70's when they discontinued the monthly sieren test on the last Friday of the month... It would sure be nice to hear them again though.

Well I'm not exactly sure. They never run. They just sit on a pole and rust. It would be great if they could run though. The electrical wires are not cut off though. They're still connected to the electrical lines.

I grew up listening to the SD-10s blare in Tucson, Az. When i was in third grade they took the one out that was a few houses down from me and replaced it with a Whelen siren. I'll never understand why, cause that was the only one ever replaced. But i used to love it when it went off. They're still my favorite sirens today,
