A video I made in my skill center class when I was a senior. I guess you could call it my final project.

  • Have always loved the song, so was interested in what a contemporary high school student would do with it. Not much, as I can see. Yes, you spent a long time editing/blending images, but to what end? It didn't MOVE me, and if nothing else, that's sure what the music does. So the visuals weren't complimentary...at all. And to add the guy above, not only does the building look like a minimum security prison, but everyone's fat! All round, not a pretty picture....too bad.

  • @Studio5LA Haha, first off I'm not Stephen Spielberg. This was literally my first video ever and we had only 3 days to do it from start to finish, and that accounts for about 3 hours time. Considering most of that time was spent editing I'd say it didn't turn out too terrible. It's nowhere near the best video ever, that's for sure, but it's definitely not the worst.

  • Your video is a record of what it feels like to be in high school, and incidentally how very ugly most of american architecture and design has become. Did you ever think that all of the items you depict could have been designed to be not only utile, but also beautiful? Why should a school where we train our children to be citizens should be as ugly as a minimum security prison? Albeit one with a "Hot Spot" sign!

    Good job.

  • @lebarosky yeah that school was really old and very ugly... they aren't all like that though so don't completely judge it by this one lousy school.

  • @Tomweldonsays don't listen to him, he's an idiot. maybe the video isn't all that emotional but you completed it and it's yours. i'm sure that the moment it was finished you felt proud with what you accomplished. keep up the good work and don't let assholes like this one get in your way.

  • @Studio5LA you were interested in what a contemporary high school student would do with it? the school does look like a prison but that's not his fault. the video might not be all that moving but he's young and for his first video this isn't that bad. learn to speak like you're not a complete jerk.

  • Precioso tema

  • People always seem a little incredulous when I say I like S & G, not sure why - this is a song that sums up my leaving high school in a month or so - get out, be free, be magnificent. I've been eager to fly for such a long time.

  • That IS life in America - admit it or not! And still the life most of the world aspires to!

Absolutely awesome job. I thought it felt nostalgic and very real!

  • @Studio5LA Pretty isn't everything, for 1. This song is much too sublime and heartfelt to be sold to a bunch of American Idol rejects, reality is everything for me for a "down to earth" ballad like this. I'm glad the high school is made out to look like a prison, that's one of the best parts of the video for me. I think the visuals go great with the song, I've loved this video for a long time. It's amazing to me what a high school student has done with a classic song like this. Good Job!

  • I'm laughing my arse off at the people critiquing this like it's in the running for an oscar. The guy says he's a student and I found it interesting enough to watch until the end. It made me feel a little sad for some reason...I guess it was the bleak building and surrounds. But I did like it, well done.

  • To Studio5LA and other hipster wannabes here: If all that your education and culture and life experience has done is prepare you to pronounce everything you lay eyes on garbage, how smart should we believe you are? Oh, it can sound really smart to rip the shit out of everything in sight. But how smart are you if something negative or ugly is all you glean anywhere you look? That's not smart. It's pathetic and miserable.

17 is not 30. Try to remember that.

  • I think for the most part, making videos in Highschool sucks, because there's literally nothing cool to film. I found that the same way when i was in school. The only good shots any of the students ever got were outside of the school.
