Jenůfa tries to console Števa, but she also reminds him the need to marry as soon as possible, out of spite he retorts that he could have any girl he wants because they all have eyes for him. Seeing her so upset he reassures her saying that no girl could compete with her apple blossom cheeks. When Števa leaves Laca who has overheard their conversation is overcome with jealousy and slashes Jenůfa's cheeks with his knife, immediately horrified by what he has done Laca runs away while the Miller, the Grandmother and the young Barena run to help Jenůfa.

  • Awesome, maybe pronunciation could be better, for someone czech speaking it is then pretty ridiculous. But in musical way, it is beatiful.

  • Amazing interpretation from Mrs Roberta Alexander!

    The best Jenufa ever...

  • WOW! I met this lady last year at the US Open in NY.! It's the first time I've heard her sing, though.

    She's good!
