Infratip Lobular Grafts are used to create grater lobule definition, projection, counter-rotation, lengthening and camouflage any remaining asymmetries.
In most cases one or two lobular grafts with achieve the desired projection of the tip. In revision rhinoplasty the use of multiple grafts is common.
Beverly Hills Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon Dr. Paul Nassif, often seen on Dr. 90210, invite's you into the operating room to demonstrate and explain how and why Infratip Lobular Grafts are used. His patient is a young female undergoing a tertiary (her 3rd) revision rhinoplasty procedure.
In primary rhinoplasty surgery, the key to preventing complications is the pre-diagnosis of potential anatomical and functional abnormalities. For example, you desire a hump reduction and I identify short nasal bones and a narrow middle vault. My thorough evaluation will warn me that you are at risk for upper lateral cartilage subluxation from the nasal bones (inverted V deformity) and internal valve collapse.

will the cartilage that you placed on the tip of the nose somehow grow into the existing cartilage?

@coralrainsky
Hello,
This will not happen after placement of cartilage in the tip of the nose or anywhere else. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Thank you and best of luck.
