That is way too much oil for the amount of kernels in there. I always toss 2 to 3 tablespoons into the pot and it works great. I usually garnish with garlic salt, So Good! Guess you like it the way you like it tho. I love my whirley pop!

On the flip side the sound effects are hilarious!!!!

I am confused. You are supposed to leave the top down the entire time. It's taking forever because you keep opening the top.
don't add oil! Dry roast the beans as they have plenty of oil in the raw bean!
