The first supplement, Video 9, shows you how you can use your hatching skills to give the appearance of substance and solidity to the outline of a regular cube.
Hopefully you will say... "This looks easy to do"
If so, this is good news. When combined with knowledge of perspective drawing... "How can you fail?"
What is useful to remember is that most objects in the world around you are made up from simple shapes... * Cubes (including rectangular boxes) * Spheres (including balls and globes) * Cylinders * Cones * Pyramids
Of course this isn't everything. But, if you can look at an object and see flatness and curvature, take another look... see whether there is a basic form. Look out for... * 'Box' forms in Buildings * 'Cylindrical' Cans * Ice-Cream 'Cones' * 'Spherical' Tennis balls
You will be surprised at the number of times you will see complex objects that can be broken down into simple shapes.
Inspired by the drawing principles of... www.drawingfoundations.com
It is a real pleasure...
I just checked out your video... your artwork is wonderful... a true inspiration.
keep an eye open for the pencil videos that show how the hatching skills work for smooth tone shading.
