THE FUTURE OF HEALTH INSURANCE DISCUSSED AT THE 2008 DC HEALTH SUMMIT

The future of health insurance was the topic of discussion at the 2008 DC Health Summit, a meeting that brought together more than 100 of the top minds in the health care industry on Oct. 29 at the Mandarin Hotel in Washington, DC (www.dchealthsummit.com).

Workplace wellness expert Dr. Steven Aldana gave the keynote, and a panel of high-profile health care industry advocates discussed ideas on how to lower health insurance rates — including Virginia Senator George Barker, Kaiser Permanente's Director of Population Care Dr. Amy Compton-Phillips, Neurosurgeon Dr. James Melisi, the National Rehabilitation Hospital's VP Dr. Paul Rao, Maryland's former Insurance Commissioner Al Redmer, and UnitedHealthcare Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sanford Cohen. Plus, Barack Obama's surrogate health care expert, Dr. Melinda Beeuwkes Buntin, talked about the Obama / Biden health care plan.

What is the likelihood that consumers will see lower rates soon? View this video to learn more.
