this is my seventh Jump , level 5 PFF ( progressive free fall) similar to AFF , I had to accomplish two 360 turns and pull at 5.000 feet. all was going OK even thou my exit was a bit rough ( out of a king air also known as the sling air) but i will get use to airplane speed , so there I was ,beautiful clear blue sky, stabilised in my free fall , checked altimeter looked for my reference point, the mountains ,did my two 360 turns..all good...looked at my instructor, ..smile...altitude check..7.000 feet,,well am bored ...i will try another turn,,big mistake..I wasn't in a good arch position, i got a bit lazy and was very flat with my right knee too low, than i started this very fast spin , i thought if i arched harder I would stop ( and I would) but I wasn't arching, i was locked in this flat position) in my mind i was doing a good arch but i was too tense with my muscles locked flat like a board spinning out of control(the famous flat spin),when i thought i was getting it back in control a bit but didn't want to go any further as it was time to pull, my instructor came to the rescue and blocked my spin as I was pulling the pilot chute, time to pull is TIME TO PULL,the parachute opened nicely as i watch my instructor falling and tracking the DZ,and I didn't get any line twists...there is so much to learn,,need to learn how to relax and arch properly,!!need more practice and learn how to use my legs!!!!..more blue skies !!!

feel free to leave a comment or a question ,

I will put more videos and hopefully some of a more controlled free fall.

excuse the cameras box blocking part of the view, instructor's new camera and helmet,he wasn't even supposed to film this so I'm not complaining..are you ??

blue skies everyone !

  • dude, i'm taking the lesson at pitt meadows too, i think a good way and safest way to practice arching while in mid air is wind tunnle, i went there 2 times and it helped so much, i did my first caravan jump (30sec) and everything went well cuz of wind tunnle. it's a really good recommandation

  • thanks,,yes all i need is some wind tunnel time...flat spin is a common problem ! but totally solvable.i know a guy he had it for a year ,,now that he figured it out he cant flat spin on purpose not even trying it,,that's how funny our crazy sport is !

  • i had the same problem, during my second pff jump, our exit was wonky due to my messed up and hesitated count, basically i had one instructor end up head down on top of me, and the other instructor flipped over and was back to back with the other instructor, then i ACTUALLY arched, and we stabilized, my time in the wind tunnel this past january also showed me alot of what i needed to improve upon

soft landings and blue skies man
