on the dyno in belgium 2005, having problems with tire slipage, 340bhp was the limit with the 225,40,18 pirelli's, with the slicks it read 416bp@7000rpm@28psi

  • How much hp do you think you could get out of this engine WITHOUT a turbo?

  • @QFizzV8Fizz 260hp

  • american, eruo, japanese, I don't care what it is, THIS WOULD KICK ITS ASS ALL DAY LONG!!!

  • Bone-stock, no... but there's plenty of aftermarket for 'em! Rhino 'cases, better gear sets, 4-pinion diffs... hell, they use 'em for Pro-Street VW drag racing! Air-cooled (not to exclude the waterboxers) VWs have, quite possibly, the most-developed aftermarket out there!

Also possible to swap a Porsche tranny, yes. Difficult, but possible. Seriously... sky's the limit with a classic 'Dub.

At mid track maybe. Have you ever driven a fast volkswagen? they launch like a methhead pitbull.

  • @TheBigBossRoss

If you could get traction maybe :/

  • @TheBigBossRoss I like your way of thinking bro!

  • 400 hp with a CLOSED decklid. Gray paint too, someone gonna bust some asses. I'd put a quick release muffler on that sucker and butt fuck mustangs all weekend.

  • Sounds like it eats Honda's for breakfast!

  • Incredible work fellas!, that's a fast bug

  • awsome, i like aircooled better, but this is sweet

  • Sounds evil.........looks mean, and probably runs like hell.

  • Jesus 400hp how the hell do you keep the back end from slipping? Just resting your foot on the pedal would cause it to spin its tires. Does the engine weigh more at least?

  • Sick!
