That's not completely true, the Halo movie was set aside for district 9. Peter Jackson is the executive producer for the Halo movie and continues to claim that it will be made. Also there are several scripts being reviewed right now and most of them the follow the events of Halo: Combat Evolved. One, however, follows John-117(Master Chief) as he is kidnapped at age 6 and trained into an elite spartan.
