An open letter to Norway from Anonymous

Hello Norway,

Anonymous keeps their promise and strikes back hard on the introducing Data Retention Directive. We follow up our warning (Published at Dagbladet.no the 14.Dec 2010 - 07.23) to take down the websites of the Norweigan political party "Arbeiderpartiet", now known as betrayers of their own country. We protest against the Data Retention Directive because of its clear violation of both norwegian constitution (§. 1), the human rights declaration and our privacy.

The Data Retention Directive is a brutal abuse of our privacy and a violation of the Norwegian law. Germany and the Czech Republic rejected the directive in the constitutional court and been declared unconstitutional and a clear violation to a country's constitution and human rights.

Almost every week we read about new scandals in abuse of privacy, surveillance, and illegal storage of information which should have been deleted. These leakages and personal information out of control should concern every citizen in the country. For example we remember the great patientjournal scandal where thousands of journals with private information was leaked. Just last week we could read about the thousands of DNA samples which were illegally stored by the police and were available for everyone who was working in the building. In january it was revealed that the police illegally collected personal information about 7000 internet users, while they only had permission to take out information about two(2).

Anonymous does not tolerate that security actions against terrorism should violate a whole kingdom's privacy, countries laws and peoples freedom. Leaked European Union reports reveals that the directives purpose is easily avoidable for the criminals, and by that it is the innocent part of the population who are getting violated by the disadvantages of this directive.

Both this and the fact that the major part is against the directive has not been expressed as clearly as it should in the media. Articles claims that DRD has support from the majority of the population, while polls in the same articles clearly shows the opposite by over 70%.
Why is the peoples opinion being neglected? And why does the media state this, when it clearly does not match up with reality?

We look upon this action as a necessary protest to the politicians choice in implementing this highly disputed directive that we fight against. That the opponents of the directive was not welcome to attend as audience during the decisive debate in the Parliament, emphasizes what kind of society we now are living in.

Anonymous says NO to abuse and criminalize a whole nation with digital control and
over-surveillance. Anoymous with many more says NO to the DRD.
