This is part of the 100-hour Wiscontrepreneur Challenge. Our team designed a device that was constructed out of a $5 fan from UW SWAP and a $5 fishing reel also from UW SWAP. We realized the need for a solution to the problem of a portable electrical energy source. By binding the fishing reel to the shaft of the fan you are able to produce AC current. To then charge a battery a diode is placed in the system. This converts the power to DC current. A car outlet was then attached to allow for the attachment of auto charger accessories. This device is know as REEL POWER. It will be useful to people traveling in remote areas and in countries where there is no stable power grid.
