Not only was Tom Jackson a great player but he is also a great analyst for ESPN. I love watching Tommy and Chris Berman on Sunday NFL countdown, great stuff.

@rumpus2000 the thing I dont like it lynn swann is that he is not even in the top 250 in career receptions. mick quick, dennis northcutt, antonio bryant, louis lipps and randle el all have more career receptions than him. his also ranked #192 in career yards.

@TheShootTruth10 i was referring more to the disparity between offensive and defensive inductees, but you're right. Different eras, different philosophies, different attitudes towards potential HOFers also need to be taken into account.
-
@rumpus2000 they didnt care too much about stats when they inducted lynn swann with 300 career rec. and about 5,000 yards.
-
@Gwitfu90 they didnt keep tackles back then so it is somewhat inaccurate.

@quincee33 yeah Meck was during the orange crush years

The REAL NFL. Today NFL is very anti-defense.
Randy Gradishar should be in the NFL HOF.

BINGO. how right is that guy who says it is an absolute tragedy he isn't in the hall of fame. I loved the way Tom Jackson dominated opponents but Randy Gradishar played 10 straight years as the best Inside LB in the league. I believe only dick butkus and ray lewis were better but that was only because they were bigger and able to do what Randy did; not more than Randy could. think about that. Tom Jackson at times was better than any defensive player ever but he wasn't as consistently great.
