Thing I find funny is an airline that held a monopoly on flights out of the Soviet Union would need to advertise.

@juantrippe82 The commercial's aim was to introduce the Soviet people to new joys of aerial transportation in a flying casket, rather than the traditional TransSiberian casket on rails, thus underlining the technical superiority and progress that Socialism accomplished in such a short period of time, for the benefit of the people, pushing forward for peace and universal bliss. AND SO ON...
Propaganda. As Khruschev put it: The press (media) is our main ideological weapon.

@prunariu Congratulations on your UN Chairmanship. And thank you for your contributions to human space flight and research.

Who said anything about American transportation?
They were all dangerous then. I was speaking of my own travelling experiences in the Eastern Block. Of course, I am mainly making fun and joking of the way our former leaders made things look, even in commercials such as this one. Good days. And if you have any doubt as to what gives me the right to express my oppinion in such a humorous manner, look me up. Dumitru Prunariu. I was on the Interkosmos joint Soviet-Romanian crew in 1981. Soyuz 40.
