Now it seems that America's enemies are who Israel dictates. After decades of trying to control Arabs through bribes and threats, there may turn democratic and rule themselves. Israel is not too happy with democracy in the Middle East.

I say this as a virulent anti-communist in my teenage years.

When the Cold War ended, I was disappointed.

Now, of course, my feelings on the subject were a fucking waste of time.

It was a bonanza for policy makers and corporate America.

They profited handsomely from this cold war scheme.

Just as they profit from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Only one real rule: Don't mess with the money

Very true. Corporate America had no problem with scaring people and touting anti-communism because it helps them through defense contractors and firm that support the military directly or indirectly.

Eisenhower was probably the best Republican President since Lincoln (and that's not saying much) because he understood the rise and influence of the "military industrial complex" and he cut back on defense spending with money appropirated toward highways among other things.
