Molly wanted a treehouse. The question was, did I remember enough from high school shop class to make her dreams a reality, or did calculus push all that practical knowledge out of my head?
@carterson2 all I know is the first few boards were the hardest - the rope was the best way to secure things until I had somewhat of a structure started
@DaveBoxler Yes, rope! I used nylon, about a half inch thick. It sagged a bit while building as it settled (knots, branches, etc) but once in place it didn't move one bit. It has been 2 years and the treehouse is now gone, but the platform it stood on is still there and I walk around on it often. I'm more surprised than you it's still hanging...
i dont get the rope. Everyone seems to start that way. Is that better than nailing the floor on a ladder I guess?

You suspended it from ROPE?!?!
Not cable, or chain? ...How long did that last? And didn't it sag to one side when people got in it?!
