Please pay attention to the commas and periods as they mark where I would like the emphasizing pauses to be. Don't start singing the song, but read the words with the pauses in these different spots.

The time has come, for me to leave this place of complacency, and step out across that line.
Into the place, where I can leave all that I have behind, and give You this heart of mine.
But, what if I'm the only one to break the silence?
What if I'm the only one to crack the ice?

The question is, will I join the rocks. Will you join the rocks?

If it were to ever come down to it, when the entire rest of the world comes to deny Christ, will you remain firm in your faith and join in with the rocks. If no human on Earth, but only nature - God's creation, will praise Him, which will you follow? Will you follow the other 6 billion humans and deny Him? Or will you stand firm in faith and join the rock in their singing? Will you clap your hands with the mountains? Because all of creation will be crying for more even if the entire human population fails to.

Now lets get beyond that positive sounding, Christian answer of "Yes, of course I will, I will never deny Him!" Let's start thinking here. If we all find it so hard to stand up to peer pressure from a couple of friends, how then do we honestly expect ourselves to continue standing firm for Christ against 6 billion people? Stop and think for a moment. Just how strong is your faith? If in the next hour the entire human race were to deny Christ, would you too? If it came down to it today, could you honestly say that your faith is strong enough?

This alone is a prime example of how the Christian faith is not a one time decision, a one time baptism. It is however a lifetime walk along a path which no one could have ever imagined. A path taking us through trials and tribulations, victories and triumphs. To describe this walk I would have to agree with Mark Lowry to say, "The Christian life in one word, interesting." Think about that, it's not going to be normal, boring, predictable, easy, impossible, etc. It's a wide range of descriptions, all of which God controls. All strengthening us in our faith, setting firm foundations, preparing us for the unexpected moment when we must truly profess our deepest beliefs. Whether that be here on earth or in judgement, we will never know until it happens. So reflect on the lyrics of this song keeping everything said here in mind. When the moment arrives, who will you join; the rocks...or the rest of the world?
