In April 2010 Brazilian clarinet player TITO MARTINO was in Paris, and guided by friend trumpet player ERIC LUTER, son of famous clarinetist CLAUDE LUTER (friend of Sidney Bechet) , went to historic jazz joint LE CAVEAU DE LA HUCHETTE and there Tito was invited to play a number with CARLING JAZZ BAND, from Sweden. Here is an amateur video taken by Renata Martino, showing the happiness of the players and the enthusiasm of the public, dancing lively, as it's usual there. This video is all in all an statement of the perennial and universal appeal of TRADITIONAL JAZZ.
The players are all from CARLING family:
Hans (father) trumpet, Max clarinet, Gunhild trombone, Gerd piano, Aina (mother) banjo and Ulf drums. They are all stars by own right.
GUNHILD CARLING is the extraordinary talented artist, multi-instrumentist and singer, celebrated internationally.
Young Gunhild's daughter is peeping from the aisle... next generation star?
Long live to JAZZ and to the CARLING FAMILY !
Excelente Tito!
