You can't dumb down the proms. It just doesn't work. This personality is all wrong for this event. This is classical music, not Glastonbury. I'm not saying I'm a snob or anything, I just don't think this works, you can make jokes, but this is just going overboard to the point where it is just not funny at all.

Another work of brilliance.I'm reminded of striking similarities with the British propensity to knock Eurovision - trying to make it Camp,in order to survive etc.Yet it would be simpler to just have fun enjoying music.Thankyou for that excellent vid

An excellent assessment of a thoroughly good and venerable insitution. I'll be there and singing along with the best of them and, yes, I shall no doubt shed a tear or two as well.
