  • I've had horses of this type who did this gait in the pasture at two days of age. There is nothing on this horse except bell boots to keep him from hitting himself and tack that any other horse would wear. Learn something about the breed before you criticize. Just because you aren't familiar with this breed or gait doesn't mean there is anything unnatural about it. These horses are descended from Narragansett pacers, which is probably closely related to Icelandic ponies and to Pasos.

  • The bit is only as cruel as the hands that yield it. If you look at about the 50 second mark that horse is right on and the guy is realy relaxed and enjoying the ride. There is probabley a reason for the tie down. I ride one of my rockys in a full cheek snaffle and the other a bit with a shank, know the horse as to what bit is best.

  • I had a racking horse they naturally put their head high that is how they hollow their back to rack properly, tie downs are bad for this. not knowing this horse I would guess he is not hardwired for the rack as it should come naturally with little trouble, there are soft wired rackers that require more training. yes weight is also an issue he needs a lighter better rider. till he gets better and stronger. I feel sorry for horses in hands of bad trainers. my horse racked in a halter.

  • the first time i seen that horse i fell in love with it

  • I seriously hate racking.

  • I like how the rider is relaxed and loose

  • @Emmabeth1980 Uhhhh you think his head is "tied down"?? Seriously?! Look again. His head is WAY up, sky high even, not "tied "down" AT ALL! BTW, my tennessee walker gaits NATURALLY on a loose rein and barefoot, AND I'm over 250 lbs..but then again, he is 16 hands and built like a draft. This horse isn't struggling at all, he's a firecracker barely contained, lol

  • Bet he aint sound now - gaited horses will sometimes gait naturally but THIS horses ungainly waddle is due to the fact the rider is FAR too heavy for him and he is struggly to carry the weight - that combined with having his head tied down and the rider sat as far back in the saddle as possible means he cant move naturally at all.

  • @horsepower13579 no horse moves in a way like that naturally. to ride this horse like you do is cruelty to animals. it´s sad that people still do that and think that´s good and natural for their horse...

pls think about it and stop bohering your horses -.-

  • @Therrylienchen that is a gaited horse..they move like that naturally, even on their own in a paddock
