Sorry Jeff but the problem is more pervasive than that (and continues to exist since it was first found in 2009). It can be right on all calendars but still wrong on the site. The only solution I found was to code the calendar through an iFrame gadget added to the site. This then allows you to force the calendar to display in a specific timezone.
@ SpeedyRV: change timezone in your Calendar by finding "Settings" below My Calendars list (lefthand navbar), "General" tab, and change "Your current time zone". Can also add time zones if you have contacts in other places -- slick.
