#30 - Dog Gone Dead (The Austin Sessions)

I've known Jon Cook for about three years now, ever since my former co-host on KVRX brought him on our morning show to perform for us. When we first started The Austin Sessions, Jon was our ace in the hole. If any of the bands dropped out and everything was just too ready to break down, we'd give him a call.
Despite the fact that no Session has broken down to that point, Jon was too talented of a guy to not be featured in The Austin Sessions. So after 29 Sessions of waiting, he finally got the call-up. We took his latest project, Dog Gone Dead, to an Austin tradition: The Zilker Park Kite Festival.
There's no more beautiful sight in the city than a bunch of Austinites flying kites in the middle of Zilker Park on a beautiful spring day. And Dog Gone Dead provided the perfect soundtrack to that scene.
It's days like this that show what an amazing city Austin really is.
