Author/illustrator D. B. Johnson was inspired by the art of M. C. Escher to create Palazzo Inverso (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, May 2010). With this innovative story, Johnson has turned the picture book on its head, literally. You can read it both right-side up and upside down.
"Palazzo Inverso is not just for little kids," Johnson says. "Its for big kids who like figuring out puzzles, who can stand on their heads and look at the world upside down. I made this book for rebels who like a challenge and for the least of us, who with little opportunity, can imagine our way to noble heights."
