During the installation of a Stussy chapter store in Japan, Eric Haze found time for a rare interview. Haze recounts his experiences starting out as an artist in a time before mass communication/publication was readily accessible. This piece should be interesting to anybody following the history of street art, customization and of course, the man himself.

  • Eric Haze, very true what you said man. trying to find my road too.

congratulations on your success, you are a great artist.

  • @YellowYingYang Good point. However, all art is inspired by something else. Obviously he did not think up the shapes of an arrow and star out of thin air. And considering how simple his designs are, it doesn't seem that there was much originality. I'm not trying to hate, honestly. I respect Haze for making a solid career out of his passion. I personally just don't see the appeal of his work.

  • @BON4F1DE but that only means you can copy them in seconds. could you think of them at first?

  • This might sound ignorant, but I do not understand Haze's style. I could paint those basic shapes in seconds.

  • stussy should of done shit with RAMM:ELL:ZEE

  • im 31 yrs old now. i have been involved with graff since i was 12. i just opened a website that sells gear to local artists.. i do not create enough anymore but my passion is still there. and you can see my passion in my store. peep my shop out! free shipping to Arizona residents and a very small fee to out of state residents. this video has made me realize that i don't do enough art anymore. and i need to change that. check out my website if you have a moment. its the one the 1 thing ive made.
