It's safe to say that some of the forefathers of Death Metal drumming are Pete Sandoval, Paul Mazurkiewicz, Steve Asheim, and Mike Smith.

sickdrummer indeed i wish i could pull off fills like that
-
i saw steve last summer and he was 100% spot on he didn't miss a thing out and ive seen alot of the top bands playing and they always miss out snare, toms kicks etc it just goes to show how some players can play with no effort and others struggle forcing themselves to keep up with their own songs... PS george kollias is a loser and nile are a nu-metal band [u kno about as much about rhythm as a house dj] / i dnt know how anyone can say steve isnt technical ....
-
@StIdes811 Amen to that.
-
Yeah I agree - criticising Steve is just silly. He was alongside other people like Kollias and Hellhammer making history.... and he has his own style. He is a legend in his own right.
-
@homelesscreeper yeah i know
-
*if* he sucks....
-
Many assholes are saying he sucks live but they can't even play for whom the bell tolls and he he sucks live at least he doesn't cheat!!! ungrateful fucks!!!!!
how the fuck is anyone questioning steve asheim? this guy was pioneering this type of drumming before you were even a fucking stain in your daddies pants. study respect and appreciation of the roots will only make you a better player and musician.
