Final Fantasy 14 Review 12: The Epic Quest Continues! (and gold spammers test the beta)

Lewis has started to lose his mind and Simon is nearly comatose as we continue to press on and wade knee-deep through the shit-filled swamp that is Final Fantasy 14.

An in-depth look at the SquareEnix's highly anticipated new MMO, as Lewis creates a fisherman and endeavours to play through the game. Since it's basically pointless playing multiplayer in this game, and since the game won't install (or probably even run) on Simon's computer, he watches through the footage afterwards, and the pair discuss their experiences.

I remember when Spore got 9/10 and 10/10 reviews as well, happily awaiting my preorder.

@ELementCreator X3 and the rest of the X series are great, though i guess the learning curve on that is kind of steep, which could explain lewis's comment (To be fair, if you did not know what was going on in the X3, it would get old really quickly).

@ropisfun Games have not gotten any more expensive in like 20 years. They have not even taken inflation into account for their prices. When it came out Super Mario Bros. 3 cost the same as The Witcher 2.

its sad to me how long old rpgs were on super nintendo and technology has come so far since then and games barely last longer than 6 hours, only game thats been worth my money (as far as how many hours of entertainment) in years is the last 2 elder scrolls games, even then oblivion's combat was fairly poor and kept it from being as good as it could have been. and yet WE LET THEM RAISE THE PRICE ON GAMES BY 10 BUCKS!? im sick of games relying on online play to offer you longer play time!

Why's R.U.S.E bad? It's pretty good if you're into that kind of RTS, but I think it's more of a non-existent simulation more than a entertaining game.

@feeblemind That just begs the question as to why they even released the game in the first place. So many basic elements of the game were missing at launch it either represents gross incompetence or even worse, that Square Enix have so little respect for their own fanbase they expected them not to notice. Either way, Square Enix is on the cusp of losing a lot of fans if they don't improve, fast. Nobody is interested in their bollocks anymore, to put it simply.
