i find myself jumping from one tune to another and never really finishing before i become interested in another. Lately i changed my evil ways and take a tune and study the scale and improv

@cynic150 I don't think the ones stupid enough to behave this way recognize this behavior as a problem. My newest student doesn't understand how studying with two teachers could possibly be a problem. I think she's about to become the most recent addition to another list- the list of students I've fired!

Yep - very, very true!! :)

Very true. The person who wrote this has suffered as all we music teachers have.
Thanks for doing these videos. I hope all the stupid people represented in the sketches are watching and learning. It appears that everyone wants to play an instrument, but no one wants to do what the teachers tell them to do, which is what they actually need to do. In other words, it is not only required that the teacher knows how to teach, but the pupil must know how to learn.

Yes, learn the basics!!!
I've been here so many times in private schools in Australia that it's just too sad for this to be funny. Instrumental teachers that have worked in the business, hold degrees/masters and are top all-round musicians are treated like common slaves. Some of us have more experience and musicality in our toenails than the people that direct the departments have in their bodies-not all of course as I have worked for some excellent dept. heads. (1 or 2 out of 15 or so..) over the years. Sad, but true!
