Episode 1 of our web video series "Stories from the Rainbow Warrior." You'll see the maiden voyage through the eyes of our youngest activists, the New Hands on Deck: www.facebook.com/newhandsondeck. It's our way of saying "Thank you" and to show off what 100,000+ of you bought when you funded the ship bolt by bolt, cleat by cleat, and sail by sail.

By Julia Stanislawska and Gustav Forsberg, Agaton Film & Television

That's excactly what I did when it was in Amsterdam. I'm totally in love with and in awe of the masts and when I was on board for a tour I just stroked them and and imagined all the forces of nature they will have to endure and I wished them all the luck and succes and strength they can use !!!

  • @frankmiki: The solution for vegetables is to plant your own if you can & if you can't, to buy locally & ORGANIC (ie no pesticides). Being a vegan is certainly more planet- friendly than being a meat eater. Animal agriculture is the NUMBER ONE reason for rainforest destruction, & creatres more greenhouse gasses than cars, (besides being cruel). Wasteful of land, water & steals grain from the hungry. There's every reason to go vegan in terms of benefitting the planet.

  • Wonderful. Great to see this new ship and it's deckhands.

  • @PardusPanthera100 You can also think that going vegan isn't completely environmentally friendly, since you will be eating many vegetables that come from big companies that make the planting possible by deforestation. Besides, they may use monoculture, which leaves the soil useless as the minerals used are always the same, leading to an overwork of it. Those plantings may also use products such as pesticides, which are made for a certain plant, but they affect other types of them. Is that okay?

  • wow!!

  • @PardusPanthera100 big mac

  • @PardusPanthera100 Its not easy for people to part with their favourite foods.
