@GospelPanMan Good point about not "beating" the pan. It creates a mood of intimacy, and brings out the sweetness as others have said... Which causes me to reflect that, in its origins, steelpan music was played for the street, and then for the big Panorama stage, neither of which allows for intimacy, although there is a special sweetness that can still be there -- eg. Rebecca, Dis Feelin Nice, Band from Space -- depending on melody & arrangement, even when they're "beating" the pans.
