Hi Roseanna,
I have just found this. I remember I was in shock last year when you told me Bob had passed away. When you and the "Jazz I Am" band were in Asuncion, during a break in one of the clinics I got a chance of playing a duet with Bob (yours truly at the piano), and he sightread a tune of mine, a soft bossa, called "The Spring Leaves" (a new more complex melody to a reharmonization of "Autumn
Leaves"). He was a first-rate bassist and, for the very few days I met him, a great guy.

Roseanna-- it's hard for me to believe this has only 422 views and 3 likes. "Passion Dance" is probably one of the best vocal jazz albums is recent modern history. I first heard "Long As You're Living" on KCRW in LA years ago on the way to work, and forced myself to remember the name of the album to make sure I didn't miss out on it. So sorry about the loss of your friend and collaborator. As a fan I can say that all of the contributions to your music are FIRST CLASS. Keep on Keepin on...Thank U

Thanks for sharing this vid. Bob was my cousin. A great man and anyone who knew him can attest to his sincere love for music.

thanks for posting .. r ip bob bowen -- great jazz here ..rhsc - nyc
We posted this video because it was the last time that I played with bassist Bob Bowen- bass (he takes a great solo on this piece.. Bob left the planet last week. He was a great bassist and a dearly loved father, friend, musician and creative soul. Kenny Werner is on piano and this is his arrangement from my "Passion Dance" cd. on Telarc in 1996. Keeping us tight is drummer; Tim Horner.
