i just bought a book! it is a compilation of texts that were written about Jesus and contemporary with the New Testament. the church didn't want us to read them. that makes me want to read them. i think Thomas may have understood Christ better than the others. of course Jesus said some things against those who would try to gain power through His words, so it's no shock to me that those seeking power would edit what he said.

  • Have anyone of you read the Apocrypha? I strongly suggest it, it really is amazing...and rather than getting caught up in why and all these disputes about the text, just read it..."ye shall know the by their fruit" judge for yourselves instead of getting others opinion.

  • Thanks for sharing. I was blessed.

  • @kiwichristian2009 you are a christian enough said about your knowledge christianity is false and your pastor is a homo why would I listen to a white boy who is a christian the apocrypha goes hand and hand with the bible if it didnt then it wouldnt have been in the bible prepare yourself for slavery

  • @psyco4cp The bible says that only a fool sayeth in his heart, 'there is no god...." God is real and Christ is real. Worship Jesus only and live.

  • @Uaintfireliar DOnt forget what your own jerome said. "As the Church reads the books of Judith and Tobit and Maccabees but does not receive them among the canonical Scriptures, so also it reads Wisdom and Ecclesiasticus for the edification of the people, not for the authoritative confirmation of doctrine."

. Jerome's preface to the books of Solomon

  • @Uaintfireliar The King James translators never considered the Apocrypha the word of God. As books of some historical value (e.g., details of the Maccabean revolt), the Apocrypha was sandwiched between the Old and New Testaments as an appendix of reference material. This followed the format that Luther had used. Luther prefaced the Apocrypha with a statement: "Apocrypha--that is, books which are not regarded as equal to the holy Scriputres, and yet are profitable and good to read."

  • @kiwichristian2009 ok so explain why the apocrypha was once with the holy bible kjv i have a 1611 kjv version with the apocrypha in it before you comment learn your facts. Jermiah 36:4 Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah: and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the LORD, which he had spoken unto him, upon a roll of a book. there is a book called baruch in the apocrypha the hell with catholicism and christianity there religions teach lies. The white man is a liar!

  • @trancemajestic You got it. He was the first to proclaim himself "pontius maximus" a title STILL USED by popes today. Cardinal Newman, in his book, "The Development of the Christian Religion," admits that ... "Temples, incense, oil lamps, votive offerings, holy water, holidays and season of devotions, processions, blessing of fields, sacerdotal vestments, the tonsure (of priests and monks and nuns), images ... are all of pagan origin..." (Page 359).

  • @Uaintfireliar Get your facts right, my friend. The King James translators never considered the Apocrypha the word of God. There was a preface to this effect. And don't confuse catholicism with Christianity.
