Watching this match even tho i like all the bowlers there strikes are all light pocket hits and a few are solid and i am remembering when i was bowling how many solid pins were left standing after a strike ball was thrown but balls are alot strong and i guess easier to carry the pins now...good luck bowlers

@irishpogi hricsina is our local pro he still averages 220 on a house shot in his 70s amazing guy so much knowledge of the game. I love learning from the old timers!

@fafnir242 But If your consistent on every shot it doesn't matter what you do.

@fafnir242 Belmo is not just about power. Yeah, he has massive power, but more important, like you said, he is deadly accurate. At least accurate enough to win 4 PBA titles so far. Belmo is NOT like Mike Miller. Belmo's left hand /replaces/ his right thumb until the release. It's actually /easier/ on the wrist due to the extra support. In any case, there are some two-handers who put their thumbs in the ball. There is variety to the style just as there is among one-handers.

Notice how Belmonte has the water bottle everytime Asbaty is about to bowl. xD

You only miss 1 out of a 1000 times? Amazing

Good effort by Michelle on that 7-10 attempt.
Belmonte is going to give up and coming bowlers the wrong impression. I've seen so many people at bowling alleys doing pretty much what he does. Cranking is not the best way to go. Yes, you get a lot of power on the ball, which makes for more pin action, but cranking is not the most accurate of styles. In bowling, it's more about accuracy than power, really. As long as you hit the same mark every time, you'll more than likely strike.

@fafnir242 Remember 20 years ago when Mike Miller made bowling thumbless the in thing? Where is he now? Mike will be 50 this coming year. Let's see what he does in senior tour events if he plans to enter them.

@irishpogi Do seniors bowl the way they did 30 years ago? People change. Why bowl like a 60 year-old when you're only 25? There's time for that later! ^_^

@shuumai Are you referring to senior citizens in general or participants in PBA senior tour events? If you're referencing the latter, there were more powerful hook balls tossed by the over 50 crowd now a days compared to when the senior tour was created 1981. Decades ago, you had fewer crankers. John Hricsina was one of the older seniors who revved it up more than his contemporaries and had success.

@neffe922012 I just purchased a new DVD/VHS recorder yesterday and that enabled me to post these videos today. My old unit broke down. I didn't have the money to purchase a replacement unit until recently.
