This is completely wrong.

The value that is being reported when you're running through the Google proxy is the detected speed between the iPhonenetwork site, and Google. This is much faster, but it does not speed up your Edge connection in the slightest. Getting the data from Google to your phone is STILL going to go over the Edge network at exactly the same speed.

I can't believe that you'd actually think that made it faster.
