Anyone curious about the inclusion of MGS4 should read this essay (and the others on that site):

Movie is 'Lord of War.' Song is 'Money,' by Flying Lizards. Thanks to GrabbinPills, profsimons, ch0pper, and anyone else I borrowed clips from.

This is a summary of the circumstances which have made video game criticism a laughingstock.

I like both Jim Sterling and Yahtzee. While they have no shortage of opinions I vehemently disagree with, they're not afraid to speak their minds and elaborate on why they see the game they're reviewing the way they do, and that's all I can ask for in a critic. Far too many people seem to hate those guys because they just disagree on one or two reviews they made, which I find almost comedic. The job of a critic is to give an opinion, not state objectivity.

Are you making a joke, or are you thinking of "reviewers" (not critics)? Critics don't do their jobs so that you can know what a game's LIKE, they do their jobs to tell you WHAT THEY THOUGHT OF THE GAME so you can compare and contrast their various opinions and ultimately come to your own conclusions. A negative trait to one critic may be a positive trait for another, and If a critic usually likes what you like, maybe you'll like it too.

Also, it is nice how you changed your argument from "30 is better than 60" to "b-but I don't care about a better experience!" now that your movie critic theory was debunked.

Anyone who plays a 30 fps and a 60 fps high paced arcade style game WILL notice the difference. Also, it is not only a manner of gameplay, but fluidity of what is being shown, like an explosion looking less jerky from framerate drops (framerates will drop, so having an overhead always improves what you see - Blighttown in Dark Souls on the console vs PC is a good example).

Oh and it is common for people to mark as spam something they disagree with but cannot refute.

You said that 30 is seen as better than 60 fps.

Even if what you said was true (that some people don't know the difference, something that is completely inaccurate), that still doesn't explain how you came to the conclusion that 30 fps is better than 60 fps. How is it better if someone cannot tell the difference?

Also, even if they somehow couldn't (because they never played a game in their lives), the fact is that their inputs would be processed faster, and that is always better.

As I said much earlier the new DmC ins't a horrendous insult to humanity it's just a mediocre game. The biggest problem is how they compromised on donte and the gameplay. What ninja theory should have completely dropped calling it DMC and just made the game their own because I know they can make good games. But the elements of old dante that slipped into new donte is what make this character (among other things) so hard to like. But it's hard for me to say that the gameplay is not mediocre

I don't know about you, but most people in reality aren't balanced which is part of what makes them interesting. Old Dante was very much 2D cheese and that's ok, but Ninja Theory wanted to place more emphasis on story and to that end I think they did a pretty good job. New Dante isn't as fun as old, but he's more interesting. You don't have to like him, I just disagree with your point that his sort of behavioural polarity is bad practice when it works for so many characters in all media.

I scrolled down as far as I could be bothered to (let's face it, you're not important enough to warrant the effort especially when you're condescending remarks get hidden as spam.)

You're ignoring the simple fact that not everybody notices differences in framerate and input latency. I notice the difference between 30 and 60 but really I couldn't give a damn if the only option is 30. Genre dependant to an extent, but difference in input latency isn't that severe for the most part.

Considering that 60fps is better, then it surely makes 30fps worse by the ancient art of comparison.

He doesn't need to be a 2D character he needs to be well balanced. There are so many moments in the game where he tries to do something cool and instead of being funny they're just mean spirited and make this character very hard to like and the serious stuff is just all over the board
