@jbisti dude i just hooked my v16 up to a 212 speaker cabinet and the sound is just amazing!!! i took 2 8ohm speakers and wired them to be 16ohm and the headroom it gives the amp is insane!!! is sounds soooo much better. if you can afford a couple 12 inch speakers it is so worth it!!! later dude

@maciverandy Ah, that'd be cool. So many crazies around here... I think I'm just going to find two people who are sane, normal people and then teach them how to play instruments. Seems like it'd be a lot easier than trying to find reasonable singers around here. G'luck, man!

@jbisti ohhh i see...i'm from new hampshire, so ny is a ways away, but not too bad...good luck with the audition...too bad you don't live closer cuz we need a lead guitarist...haha...anyways thanks for the info and keep on jamming

@maciverandy Ah, I didn't think you were being a dick or anything. Certain amps can be set up with different tubes, but they need to be set up for the difference in current. For example, a 7581 will fit into a 6L6 socket, but it can't disperse the same heat as a 6L6 and will overheat if run at the same settings.
I'm in NY, and actually have an audition with a new band tonight. Looking to shake things up a bit, thought I'd start fresh in the new year. :)

@jbisti ohhh i didn't know cuz some tubes are are able to fit into different things.like there are some weird -ass tubes out there...i thought maybe 6v6's would go in place of the el84's? i'm kinda new to the tube amp thing so i'm learning too.i wasn't trying to be a dick when i said"where do you put those" i was actually serious...hahaha good thing i didn't try to force some into my amp heh.do you have a band? what state do you live in cuz i'm looking to get some new gear and maybe we culd swap

@maciverandy Whoever had my amp before me tried to turn it into something else. They loaded it up with an unlabeled set of tubes that were only marked "hi gain", and had tried to seal up the cab to make it fully enclosed. It's back to stock now, and sounding much better. Only thing different is that it's got a Celestion Vintage 30 in it. Those VC 30's are awesome. YOu might also want to check out the Peavey Classic 30's. Incredibly versatile things. Rock on!
Nice demo, bought one of these when the first came out and I've managed to hang on to it. Doesn't surprise me it's loaded with el84's, it's incredibly warm. I honestly just assumed the power stage was solid state because I havent seen an amp with power tubes hidden away like that. No stand-by either, but for $300 or so new, ya can't go wrong.

@ToneInspektor It's warm in all senses of the word, too, heh heh. I've been bringing it to small bar gigs, and at times, the knobs are almost too hot to touch. Great little amp.

Very concise, I wish more videos were uploaded by users at this level. Great amp for cheap, more importantly a great amp in general.

@CampfireHedphaz Thanks, dude. It's a wonderful little amp that gets better the more it's used. Like @maciverandy pointed out, it really opens up with an extension cab, too.
