  • check with an english teacher, it's pronounced "willies"

  • @flatfender1947 Actually, from everything I've read about the man, Willys pronounced his name Willis

  • "Willys" is pronounced "Willis", not "willies"...thanks. :D

Nice Willys though, I hope to pick one up and restore it someday myself. check your front caster to help fix that death wobble. Maybe tossing on a track bar would help as well.

  • The steering box was worn out, it was fixed, and I got rid of the jeep recently in favor of my plymouth

  • people have pronounced Willys both ways, I'll admit John Willys did pronounce his name "Willis" and not "Willies", I just pronounce it "Willies" becouse calling someone Billi or Willi just ain't right.

  • @flatfender1947

Check again jackass... Willys is pronounced as "willis".. You've never heard of the "Y" taking place of the the "I"??? I suppose not.

  • @balboa62 One more thing: If you were indeed an english teacher, you fail.

"It is pronounced, as flatfender states, "willies". But I guess anyone can be a teacher nowadays, can't they?

  • @balboa62 Go talk to a history teacher, idiot. Wikipedia for Willys-Overland has phonetic as "Will-is". The page for John Willys, founder of Willys-Overland, on wiki as the phonetic "Will-iss". You have been summarily pwned, as the saying goes.

Alaskan geologist, who knows how to pronounce something better than a Colorado English Teacher.

  • @bigguy6100 I suppose that is one thing that will be one of the things that will always be argued, same goes for the origin of the name Jeep. which by the way I hold o the Eugene theory.

    nice 2A btw.
