Maybe they don't exist anymore; they had soft-shelled bodies and they couldn't fossilize. That's what I think at least.

People have been searching for the evolutionary steps that should lead to the Cambrian explosion for 150 years plus now to explain the complex life that suddenly appeared with eyes fully developed. Darwin admitted this was a stumbling block to his theory but thought that in the decades to come these steps would be found. Yet all around the world nobody has found them to this day. So my question is why is it not by now accepted that they appeared suddenly without explanation
