  • A central bank is not laissez faire...

  • @TheProgressistViewer does alan greenspan represent the free market? is having the govt manipulate credit represtative of a free market? once you realize the central bank is the govt, you'll realize that it's govt that has flaws, not the free market. the central bank causes financial bubbles by creating credit out of thin air. credit is supposed to come from savings. when someone borrows, it's supposed to come from someone saving. credit isn't magic.

  • @Adeikov You are a fool. If you get the socalism that you are asking for you will deserve it. Why deserve it? Because you will be enslaved just as the people of Soviet Russia were. Educate yourself, read The road to Serfdom, by Hayek, or remain a fool and soon an enslaved serf.

  • Oh wow, an institution that creates credit (at will) and money (at will) and controls interest rates (at will) is a free market institution?

  • THOSE FUCKERS DO NOT CARE ABOUT ME, SO SCREW THEM, I'LL TAKE SOCALISM ANYDAY, AT LEAST THEN I HAVE THE CONTROL OF THE ECONOMY FOR MY PROFIT, NOT PRIVATE HANDS!!

  • @perdondaris I don't think capitalism rewards creative thinking. I think your view or what you interpret other's view of capitalism is wrong. Capitalism rewards those who best satisfies the most demand. People like the pretty pictures in X-Men, so that is why you have X-Men ad infinitum. People get tired of Pirates of the Carribean, so it looks like the series is over.

  • @dave19941000 I think Jon Stewart touched on that pretty well when talking to Napolitano. He pretty much said that even a free-market needs some government. How much or how little is just negotiation.

  • There is no such thing as a free market, what is defined as a free market? It is what your values are. If you belive in slavery, then a free market would have one in your view. If you belive in not regulating the health care industry, then in your view a free market includes not knowing if your doctor knows what he is doing. The bigget problem with a free market is the same as small government-Libertarianism, there is no line between what it is and what it is not.

  • Those who believe that capitalism is great because it rewards creative thinking should be asked why the best selling Hollywood movies are but rubber stamps of previous movies. Hollywood is wary of independent movies because they are risky and usually don't sell very well. Thus you have X-Men, X-Men 2, X-Men 3 ad infinitum.

  • @beer7210 yea, we need more regulation. Adam Smith even said capitalism needs regulations. I dont know where people get the idea that a "free market" is so great?

  • @beer7210 For me the issue is that America was the first country to make a solid commitment to government by the consent of the governed. The Founders were dedicated to it and four score and ten years later we made a committment to including ALL men and fifty years after that ALL women. We have honorable government in stages and I am not prepared to go backwards by handing authority to corporations, lobbyists and pressure groups. Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.
