I definitely relate to this. I started pretty late into WoW and I quit about 3 years ago around level 40 out of boredom and a distracting girlfriend.
The one caveat here is that the warhammer fantasy universe hasn't yet had a killer app. There was vga bloodbowl(fun), shadow of the horned rat, mark of chaos (decent). But none of them really hit the mark and none of them really allowed you to explore warhammer fantasy. So in my eyes the release of this game is a big event for WHFB and GW.
