Je préfère la version originale. Je crois que 0:20 - 0:24 est un peut maladroit.

@bangbangmrwang La version originale restera toujours la meilleure et la plus extraordinaire (la version anglophone je parle et non le concept original français de 1980 qui est douteux) mais pour une histoire se déroulant en France et étant si significative pour ce peuple, venant du père de la littérature française, Victor Hugo, je crois que c'était essentiel d'en faire une version francophone.

@bangbangmrwang Dans ce cas, il est évident que certaines paroles du concept original auraient dues être conservées pour la nouvelle traduction française de 1991, mais en prenant en considération la version de 1985... il faut croire qu'il (Boublil je crois?) voulait se rapprocher le plus possible de la version anglophone à succès... mais j'admets que pour pour 0:20 - 0:24 du moins, la version originale était meilleure

Does anyone have a full cast list for this production? I bought it off ITunes and it doesn't tell me any of the artists. I only know Jerome Pradon, (and I LOVE him) but I really want to know who else I'm listening to. I love this cast and I feel so bad not knowing their names! =]

Ahh.. I'm quite convinced that French is the most beautiful language spoken in the world. Even if I don't understand this, it's still the best version of this song in my opinion.

This is the original 1991 French cast. It has all the original words, and when you have to translate words in songs, they're never as good as the original and often end up with different meanings. French is also very expressive and beautiful, and to hear it sung is amazing. Also, because this is the original production, none of the casting is based on reputation of the part or starpower or anything, they simply chose the BEST THERE WAS. And they got it.

Pour moi, Les Misérables sont la plus belle collaboration franco-britannique de l'histoire. Ouais, bon, ok, y'a eu la seconde guerre mondiale, éventuellement...

I'm Italian, and I know very well the English version. But French...it has a musicality so...moving.

@mrmccollough Il y en a, pourtant pas avec les acteurs originals (n'y en a pas tant sur Youtube, au moins...mais on peut l'acheter). Recherchez "One Day More London."

I thought the French lyrics would be better than the English ones, but oddly, they're not. They sound even more forced to correspond with the music.

The music itself is awesome, obviously.

I really think the anglophone casts (especially London) brought this musical to life, even though it's the French who wrote it.
