Derived from the popular dance of the 1930's, this performance by San Francisco dance instructor Hep Jen's 8-week Big Apple Dance Class was recorded December 7, 2008 at the San Francisco Art Deco & Modernism exhibit. The music is "Jeep Jocky Jump" by Glenn Miller. The videographer was Ricky Lee Lynd. Edited by Gary Hobish.

There is a full-screen version of this at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_B2BYFN7I9w (but it is not as sharp).

  • A good piece for kids to dance to is String of Pearls. It's a bit slower, easier for them to get the steps, and it's repetitive, which means you can have them do certain steps and it can line up with the music, which helps them remember what to do.

  • fab video - want to teach a simplified version to my class of 10 year olds but don't know what music to use - can you help please?
