The Fox. He's a truly great one. Underrated because he never won by large margins, but just glance at his three-year-old season, it's jaw-dropping. He won everything that there was to win. If a three-year-old did that today, he would probably be hailed as the greatest horse ever. He was unfortunately a victim of the curse of Saratoga, but the track was a lake that day, and Jim Dandy was a known mudder. If anyone had been paying attention to the track and his history, he wouldn't have been 100-1.

He once lost a race because he was watching an airplane fly over and never left the start. He held up a race once because he stood in front of the stands for about 30 minutes and looked at everybody; refusing to budge. He was a very sweet horse though. I can't think of a nicer one among the champions.

He was 100-1 because Gallant Fox was so good, so he really wasn't that bad of a horse.
But the track was literally glue that day
